My Story

After I graduated from college I returned to my hometown. I got a car because I had graduated in the last two years and there was program at a nearby dealership. I still had two more years in the Army National Guard. So once a month I'd drill about 30 minutes away and took two weeks out of each year for active training. Before I left Okatie, SC I decided I would puruse a career in rapping. I came back home the same year I graduated and was working on my raps during this time.

I would freestyle and go over beats and looking back I was kinda rough, but I liked it. I also picked up video recording because I was partially in disbelief about my ability to actually rap.

I found work, traveling an hour and 15 minutes away, DoorDashing and Ubering people. My first job back was at McDonald's. This only last two weeks because I spazzed out on a customer and walked out.

During this period, I got a job at the Board of Disabilities and worked the night shift. This lasted about 4 months. I got fired for sleeping during the night and damaging their vehicle and giving one of the patients the wrong medicine. This time I met Brandon and we shared a brief friendship. He eventually moved to Atlanta.

We shared a love of music and I continued to make songs during this time.

I also started getting closer to an old classmate and we dated briefly.

I worked as a news reporter for the Advertizer-Herald, which lasted for about 3 months.  She was also a journalist and had ambitions for film as I had. I forget how long this lasted.

In-between jobs I was still Ubering and DoorDashing to supplement any income I made. Things weren't working out for me in my hometown. Sometimes I would sleep out my car to avoid going back and actually make profit. I was more  seriously into rap now and made enough to where I would occassionally book studio time for songs.

At some point, I moved to Florida with my cousin and worked at a dog kennel. This only last about 3 months before I went overseas with KBR. I was rapping there too and was even told I ws too loud and waking up the sleeping bunkmates.

I met Rose Ageymane there and we exchanged numbers.  I was fired after 3 months for one too many mistakes (e.g. losing my keycard and making everyone look for it or asking the wrong questions at the wrong time). I came back home and couldn't forgive myself for 2 years. I went from making $6000/mo to $7.25 at a local department store, named Roses.

Eventually, I decided to try for my CDL (addicted to the money now) and that turned from a 3 week venture to a 3 month one. My class was large and there weren't enough instructors to go around. I failed out and came back home empty-handed, but I met Amare Gentry while there. My stepfather hooked me up as a summer counselor at the local college for about 2 months.

At some point, I met fellow rappers and agreed to move with them to Myrtle Beach. I was enrolled at the college I was summer counselor at. I was trying to get my certificaion as tradesman. This lasted about 8 months.

When I graduated I moved to Myrtle Beach and agreed to be a cameraman. The roommates I had recorded and it inspired me to get back on the mike. Unfortunately, one of the roommates was a hot-head and to avoid violence I found a replacement and moved out. My camera was also stolen.

I lived out my car and sometimes slept on the couch of a friend I'd made there named Marissa Harriot. I was also recording during this time. I was DoorDashing and Ubering and worked at GoodWill during the day and a gas station at night. I decided to try for my CDL again and managed to past the exam after one failure.

Unfortunately, I had several accidents on my driving record and couldn't really find a job. I was going to a MMA gym at the time (something I always wanted to do), but ended up getting kicked out for givng a high-schooler a concussion. The gym owner personally told me I was a "liability" and I couldn't come back.

I had reconnected with Amare Gentry and he invited me to Virginia to start over. By this time I was really depressed. I was years out of college and hadn't had a stable job in years. I wasn't making consistent money and rap was expensive to fund. I went up North hoping to get a fresh start. Things started out well enough, but my friend had an "odd" way of relating.

It eventually came to a head when I verbally yelled at him and he called the cops on me. They told me to leave the premises and I was back out of my car again. I didn't sleep that entire night and in the morning I checked into the homeless shelter.

I stayed in Virgina for 3 years and worked at Amazon. I met some interesting people there. Three of whom I'm still in conctact with today. The whole time I was living out of the shelter. I was trying to use my CDL but my driving record was still in the way. I managed to get into two traffic incidents in Virginia which barred me from that route.

After some time I finally came back home and this is where I am now.

Grand Earth Trine, Pt. 2

Happy Virgo Season! Have you been productive? I know I have and if you aren't it's probably because you're not aware of what's going on. If that's true, check back to my most recent article: Grand Earth Trine Pt. 1 Just a quick recap of what's going on in the stars. * *Credits to Planet Watcher: http://planetwatcher.com/ Direct and Retrograde Now that you know what aspects are; I can delve into two very import aspects in astrology. The retrograde and direct. Of these two the retrograde gets the worst rap. On and on I've heard astrologers damn and condemn a retrograde.  I don't really understand all the fuss. All a retrograde is—meaning all it amounts to—is the motion of a planet based off perception. Whose perception you may ask? Well, the people of Earth, of course.  For us a planet in retrograde is a planet appearing to move backwards. It's not really doing this nor is it reversing in anyway physically.  Joanna...

What Mercury Retrograde Taught Me

Mercury goes direct on today. I can't help it, you can't help it so we might as well prepare for the goodness to come. Before we move onto greener pastures, however, I'd like to take this time to look at what retrograde Mercury has taught me. It's lessons went beyond the July to August timespan wherein Mercury slid into Leo; in fact, this retrograde season had me looking one year into the past to help in deciphering my future. This is what I look like. By most accounts I appear: happy, stable and even a little handsome. This picture was taken on August 20, 2017. That's only one day away. When I look at this picture I feel a sense of remorse, a regret for something I feel I've lost, a light dimmed. You see when this photo was taken I was preparing to start my own business. On top of that: I was shooting a movie, writing music, learning about social media marketing, exercising and everything in between that (eating, sleeping, and even socializing). If yo...
